In celebration of the Bead Society of Greater New York’s 20th Anniversary, we are presenting this three-day juried exhibit of our members’ creativity and talents to bring the excitement, passion and beauty of this timeless art form to the public.

Other activities will include demonstrations of bead techniques, free mini-workshops, a children’s beading table and vendors of bead and jewelry supplies.

Bead Society of Greater New York Members are cordially invited to enter the WORLD OF BEADS VIII: A TWENTY YEAR RETROSPECTIVE. DEAD LINE FOR ENTRIES: May 2, 2009. The Exhibition will be held at the Fashion Institute of Technology, from June 19 to 21, 2009.

Michael Coan, Chair of the Jewelry Department, Fashion Institute of Technology
Lois Sherr Dubin, Curator, Author and frequent Lecturer. Her best-selling, History of Beads: from 30,000 B.C to the present, is considered a classic in the field.

As part of the continuing celebrations of its 20th Anniversary, the Bead Society of Greater New York is holding a "China Challenge!" China is the gift for 20 year anniversaries. To enable all our members to participate, BSGNY is providing a shard of china. Members are invited to incorporate the shard into a wearable piece that you can show off at the opening of the World of Beads VIII: A 20 Year Retrospective on June 19 at F.I.T. If you can’t make it to the New York City event, mail us a photo of your finished piece.
