The one-on-one lessons to learn
basics in shuttle tatting.

Class fee is $25 an hour
payable after each class.

The first class session 3 hours:

Work with ONE shuttle:

Double Stitch or Double Knot; Make a ring.
Decorative and joining picots; Josefine picot.
Regular (left-to-right) join; Make a trefoil.
Reading long hand and short hand patterns.
Start a project to finish at home.


The second class session, 2 hours:

Work with ONE shuttle and a ball,
continuous thread:

Small ring-chain project; Lock join.
Right side (right-to-left) join.
Start a project to finish at home.


The third class session, 2 hours:  Work with ONE shuttle and a ball, two colors:

Hiding thread tails at the beginning of work. Adding thread; finger tatting. Making small two color motif.
Start a project to finish at home. Get highlights of the next two projects to try them at home (optional).


The forth class session, 3 hours:  Work with TWO shuttles, continuous thread.

   Choosing, interpreting and re-writing a pattern. Learn the basics of lace design. Make a piece of tatted    lace to use as applique or insertion. Compile a project following the rules learnt so far and a number of helpful tips and specific advice. Write the pattern and start the project to finish at home.


The fifth class session, 2 hours:  A short test

Questions, trouble shooting. Guidelines in tatted lace design.
Highlights of the intermediate course, helpful tips, practical advice. Short review of books on Tatting.
